Since Mr. Babin’s arrival, Gaspésie Diesel inc. has done very well financially. A skilled manager, he quickly brought the company up to a remarkable cruising speed. Mr. Babin particularly enjoys the collegiality that exists at Gaspésie Diesel inc. and he takes pleasure in working in the field, with his employees. Not content with his professional activities alone, Mr. Babin is involved in his community as a volunteer. In fact, in 2008, his involvement earned him a nomination as volunteer of the year for Eastern Québec. He does his utmost to support initiatives by young people, in whom he has tremendous faith. For the last 10 years, he has been a member of the Caplan Club Richelieu, a service club that assists young people. Joey Cyr
Claims Manager
Before becoming claims manager at Gaspésie Diesel inc. in 1999, Mr. Cyr held a number of key positions with Via Rail Canada, most pertinently, rail car maintenance foreman. He also worked at Septarail as shop manager while the firm was modifying 27 first-class LRC rail cars and at Bombardier as a technical representative. For the past few years, he has held commanding positions in the world of bus- and truck-based road transportation.

Mr. Cyr has over the years occupied a number of pertinent professional positions in mechanics and management. Throughout his career, he has proven his formidable management skills and advanced technical knowledge in the area of road and rail vehicle maintenance. Employers who have had the opportunity to work with him were sorry to see him go, indicating that his departure was a great loss for their companies. In fact, in their many letters of recommendation, they salute his professionalism, careful attention to detail and ability to remain calm in crisis situations.

Community is also important for Mr. Cyr and his involvement is multi-facetted. He is manager of the Caplan firefighting service and he represents the MRC de Bonaventure on the board of the Eastern Québec regional emergency call centre (Centre d'appels d'urgence des régions de l'Est du Québec – CAUREQ). He also serves as vice president of the Caplan Club Richelieu, a service club dedicated to helping young people.

Ronnie can answer you in French or English. He is responsible of the parts shipment and delivery. André is with Gaspésie Diésel since the beginning in 1983. Being thirsty for new knowledge, he likes to read and perfect his skills. Devoted, he takes extra care in his work. André often works on all marine applications.

Sylvain Arsenault

Sylvain is part of the team since 1987. His great experience in the lumber department is one of its greatest asset for our customers. Even more, repairs on axles and transmissions is a walk in the park for Sylvain.

Jean-Marie Poirier

Jean-Marie is with the team since 1987. His valuable experience in the mining area gave him the nick name "Jack of all trades". Transmission, axle, suspension, clutch, alignment, brake systems, steering and air systems are no secrets for Jean-Marie.

Sylvain is part of the team since 1992. He acquired his experience at the Hewitt company in Montreal. His rigorous analyzing capacity of the work done is what defines Sylvain's greatest assets.

Jonathan Sweeney
